Founding attorney Reesa Benkoff has over 15 years of experience practicing exclusively in health law and transactional law.

Reesa graduated Cum Laude from the Boston University School of Law and she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with High Distinction, from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

Reesa has a lifelong interest in serving health care clients, which stems from being raised in a family of physicians and other health care providers. She has practiced law in both large and small law firms, where she dedicated her career to providing health law services to a wide variety of national clients, from solo practitioners to the nation’s largest health systems. Reesa devotes her time to providing creative and compliant solutions in an efficient and cost-effective manner for health care industry clients.

Leadership Roles

In addition to counseling clients, Reesa holds and has held a variety of leadership positions in the State Bar of Michigan’s Health Care Law Section, the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section, and the American Health Lawyers Association, and Reesa is also a member of the Oakland County Bar Association. Reesa currently serves as Vice Chair of The Health Lawyer Editorial Board for the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section and previously served as Section’s Vice Chair for Publication Book Editorial Board, Vice Chair of the Business & Transactions Interest Group, and Vice Chair of the Physician Legal Issues Conference. Reesa has also served as a Lead Coordinator for the American Health Lawyers Association’s Fraud and Abuse Practice Group and she participated in the Leadership Development Program for the American Health Lawyers Association’s Physician Organization Practice Group.

Reesa has been appointed to two 3-year terms on the State Bar of Michigan’s Health Care Law Section Council, which is the board that oversees the Health Care Law Section. Additionally, she currently serves as the Section’s Treasurer and previously served as the Section’s Chair of the Substantive Law Committee, Vice Chair of the Substantive Law Committee, Chair of the Medical/Legal Substantive Law Subcommittee, and Vice Chair on the Payors Substantive Law Subcommittee.

Honors

Reesa has been named a Super Lawyer in 2022, 2023, and 2024 and she has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Reesa is admitted to practice in Michigan and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.
